#NewMusic, T Barz Calls on Someone Special with “Hey Lover”

Named as an “Artist to Watch” by PEOPLE in 2019, T Barz isn’t letting up. Her debut album Genesis is available on all platforms now, and has just released a new single called “Hey Lover.”

“Hey Lover” was written and produced by T BarzLouis Humphrey and Jasmon Joyner. When you listen, you can’t help but move your head. The beat captures you, but the way she rides the beat makes you stay.

Barz mentions the fact the LL Cool J was an inspiration for the song, and growing up in general. “I’ve always been a fan of “love rap,” the type that we grew up listening to in the 90’s and early 2000’s,” mentions Barz. “A huge example and inspiration is LL Cool J. He was always so smooth with it, especially when rapping about love or anything involving women.”

“The first time I heard his “Hey Lover,” it was simple but dope on many levels. He talked about seeing someone who he wanted to get to know better and how it was “just a crush.” I remember that track ’till this day word for word, because that’s one thing we can all relate to…love or crushing on someone at some point in our lives,” she adds. “My song is similar, as the vibe is about hanging out at the club and someone catching my eye.”
