Mariah Carey has returned with her first solo single in five years, releasing “Type Dangerous” on June 6.
The track samples the hip-hop classic “Eric B. Is President” by Eric B. & Rakim.
“I’m so excited to finally be releasing ‘Type Dangerous’ into the world!” Carey said in a statement. “I’ve been locked up in the studio for quite some time working my behind off on new music, and I’m thrilled for the unveiling of it to my fans, starting with ‘Type Dangerous!’”
While Carey’s last full-length album, Caution, was released in 2018, a new Carey album is on the way.
“Hit the little girls’ room to powder my nose, Then came in three hatin’ ass hoes / They don’t know the meaning of water nor soap, I don’t have time for the rigamarole / Taking off my coat, clearing my throat, Certified diamonds like the songs I wrote / Look at my wrist, check out the light show, Can you handle this? I don’t know”
