PJ Morton Brings Morton Records to SRG-ILS Group Following Sixth Grammy Win

On the heels of winning his sixth GRAMMY Award, soul singer, songwriter, and producer PJ Morton is taking his label, Morton Records, to new heights with a partnership with the SRG-ILS Group.

The New Orleans native has earned six GRAMMYs and 22 nominations, sold out countless shows, including the Apollo Theater, and has been recognized by BET, Soul Train, and the NAACP Image Awards.

“I am excited about this new partnership,” Morton said. “When Walter Millsap initially brought the idea to me, I knew it would be a perfect fit for what Morton Records, and I were trying to do to take it to the next level.”

Morton is a well-established solo artist, but he has also been serving as Maroon 5’s full-time keyboardist for the past 15 years. He has collaborated with legends such as Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Jon Batiste, Jill Scott and more.

He also made history as the first Black composer to write an original song for a Disney attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, now open at both Disney World and Disneyland.

“PJ Morton is a generational talent and everyone here at SRG/ILS is extremely excited to be part of his upcoming projects,” Claude Villani, CEO and Founder of The SRG-ILS Group, said.

Under this partnership, Morton Records will begin introducing songs from PJ Morton’s next album later this year.
