Platinum R&B songwriter Jay Lyriq releases his latest single “Keep Loving You,” just in time for Mother’s Day. “Keep Loving You” is a stripped-down, soulful Spanish guitar ballad and tribute to his wife, and other strong Black women who support their men.
“Keep Loving You” puts the listener at peace soon as it plays. Very sentimental and emotional, yet powerful. Produced by Jimi Kendrix, the lyrics not only celebrate Lyriq’s relationship with his wife, but is a “testament to the women who stick it out with us and are that voice of our highs and our lows.”
“Instantly when I heard it, it spoke to me,” he stated. “And it just put me in the mood of everything that I was going through at the time and had been going through at this point with my career. I thought about where I’m trying to go and how my wife has been there for me through it all.”
Throughout the song, Lyriq professes his love for his life partner, thanking her and pledging his continued support of her endeavors. “When we stick together we can weather any weather, baby you bring out the best in me.”
