After an extended hiatus, Daley returns with his new single “Lavender,” marking his first release since 2018. Written and produced alongside UK genre-bending producer Swindle, the track blends alternative R&B, soul and cinematic textures into a lush meditation on intimacy, escapism and emotional surrender.
Opening with sweeping orchestral strings before transitioning into knocking percussion, jazz-inflected guitar chords and layered vocals, “Lavender” captures the consuming connection between two people lost in one another’s presence.
Written from a place of both memory and manifestation, the record romanticizes fleeting moments of closeness, transforming them into a dreamlike emotional space untouched by outside noise.
“There are new colors that appear / when you’re here with me,” Daley sings, leaning into themes of sensuality, vulnerability and emotional freedom.
