R&B artist Mario is back with his signature tones and runs in his latest single “Drowning.” This is the first single for the Baltimore native since 2016 with the island inspired track “Let Me Help You.”
When it comes to his latest single, Mario told Billboard that “this experience was an intense one for me, and sonically, the bittersweet chord progressions match the emotion of the story I’m telling.”
“I never thought I’d be in between her legs while I’m still thinking bout you/ And I’m in too deep to pull out now, she’s suffering while I feel good/ When I said things should stop, you didn’t want to me (you didn’t want to save me)/ Now my feet can’t touch the ground, I’m going down”
Mario also revealed that “Drowning” is the first single from his upcoming album “Dancing Shadows,” which will be Mario’s 5th studio album. Listen to “Drowning” here, and watch the video below.
