#NewMusic: MC Lyte Teams Up with Mary Mary and Muni Long for Uplifting Single ‘Thank You’

Legendary rapper MC Lyte has joined forces with gospel duo Mary Mary and singer-songwriter Muni Long for a powerful new single titled “Thank You,” set to be featured on her upcoming ninth studio album, 1 of 1.

“Thank You” celebrates life’s journey, acknowledging the struggles and triumphs while expressing deep appreciation for the strength to persevere, merging Hip-Hop, Gospel and R&B to create an uplifting anthem of gratitude and resilience.

“Working on ‘Thank You’ with Mary Mary and Muni Long has been an incredible experience. This song is about celebrating our victories and being grateful for the journey. It’s a message that I believe will resonate with everyone,” MC Lyte said.

MC Lyte’s renowned lyrical prowess, combined with Mary Mary’s soul-stirring harmonies and Muni Long’s evocative voice, delivers a song that resonates across diverse audiences.

“In this music video, you’ll see young versions of me, Mary Mary, and Muni Long, showcasing the power of friendship and collaboration. From our humble beginnings to the big stages, this video is a love letter to our journey and to you, our amazing supporters,” MC Lyte added.

This single, produced by Nottz Da Ruler & Warryn Campbell, is a precursor to 1 of 1, MC Lyte’s first album in over a decade. The album, executive produced by multi-Grammy award-winning producer Campbell, marks a significant return for the artist, showcasing a renewed sense of purpose and determination.

The album is scheduled for release on Sept. 20.
