Missy Elliott Takes Us Through Decades with “Why I Still Love You” Video

Missy Elliott has now given us another video from her latest ICONOLOGY EP, and it’s the first song she released on social media for the project. “Why I Still Love You” had people wanting the full version when Elliott dropped the snippet on Instagram, and we got our wish granted.

“Why I Still Love You” follows the videos for “Throw It Back” and “DripDemeanor.” It’s Elliott singing, and just showcasing something that many knew she’s able to. Sing, and hold it down. Throughout the video, we see Monica speaking on Elliott, telling a young girl how important she is. The same young girl in the last two videos. We see Elliott through 3 different decades, 60s, 70s, and 80s; Missy and The Demeanors.

“Why the hell I still love you? Why the hell I still love you, baby?/ I feel like I can’t trust you, And I feel I can’t trust you, no, no/ Cheating on me, why must you? Hey, ’cause you do me wrong and you don’t do me right (Hey)/ I’ll fight you and your chick on sight (Hey), Don’t play with me ’cause baby, I’m ’bout that life
