Lizzo Becomes 6th Female Rapper to Earn A Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with “Truth Hurts”

This is not a test! Lizzo has officially earned her first Billboard Hot 1000 number 1 with “Truth Hurts,” a song originally released in 2017.

“Truth Hurts” began to slowly rise on the charts at the end of 2018, and took off this year. Lizzo released her album Cuz I Love You earlier this year, and had much success with the singles “Juice,” “Tempo” with Missy Elliott, and the self-titled track.

This year, the superstar caught the attention of everyone, and “Truth Hurts” was a song you knew… regardless if you wanted to or not. The infectious song made its way into people’s heart being so relatable, and how it made people feel. “I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% that bitch/Even when I’m crying crazy”
