Tracee Ellis Ross can add CEO to her long list of careers with her new business venture. She just announced her new natural hair care line called “Pattern,” as in curl pattern.
“PATTERN is for those of us who need more than a quarter size of product,” began a post on the company’s official Instagram. “Large conditioner sizes that actually fulfill the unmet needs of our community. Unique formulas packed with luscious & safe ingredients. Accessible pricing, because everyone should have access to their most beautiful hair in their own shower. And gorgeous packaging that conjures the legacy of our history & makes us all feel like the royalty that we are.”
In a video on the official website, Ross revealed she wrote the first business plan after finishing up Girlfriends in 2008. Ross stated that “it’s been 20 years of dreaming, and 10 years in the making…” She also said that she tried 74 samples herself, along with her team, to get the products down to what she has. You get to see a small behind the scene look at phase 1 of Pattern.
The official launch begins on September 9, at 9am on the website. “PATTERN is here to empower & nourish curly, coily & tight-textured hair. We’re excited to join the natural hair movement & to celebrate our hair for what it is: beautiful!”
