Tina Turner Reveals She Suffered From A Stroke And Intestinal Cancer In New Book, Shares Husband Saved Her Life With Kidney Transplant

After announcing that she is bringing the musical about her life to Broadway, Tina Turner has also shared that her husband saved her life witha kidney transplant.

Turner reveals a lot in her second autobiography, “My Love Story: A Memoir,” ranging from her current love life, health, and tumultuous relationship with former husband Ike.

“I lived through a hellish marriage that almost destroyed me, but I went on,” she wrote speaking on Ike in one segment.

In excerpts obtained by The Daily Mail, Turner speaks on how her now husband’s love has helped and healed her. Turner and Erwin Bach first met in 1985, but they tied the knot in 2013 after a long relationship.
During her relationship with Bach, Turner dealt with, and survived a stroke and intestinal cancer. She writes that Bach “shocked me by saying that he wanted to give me one of his kidneys. I wondered if anyone would think that Erwin’s living donation was transactional in some way,” she says. “Incredibly, considering how long we had been together, there were still people who wanted to believe that Erwin married me for my money and fame. What else would a younger man want with an older woman? Erwin always ignored the rumors.”
Turner’s second memoir is due out later this year, but it’s unclear if anything from the new book will be added to the new Broadway adaption of her already made story, “TINA.”
