Samuel L Jackson & Anthony Mackie Star in ‘The Banker,’ a Film About Two Black Entrepreneurs Helping the Community (Trailer)


Developed through Apple TV+, The Banker stars Samuel L Jackson & Anthony Mackie as two Black entrepreneurs helping Black families.

Based on a true story, “The Banker” centers on revolutionary businessmen Bernard Garrett (Mackie) and Joe Morris ( Jackson), who devise an audacious and risky plan to take on the racially oppressive establishment of the 1960s by helping other African Americans pursue the American dream.”

Set in the 1950’s, we know the racial history during the time. In the trailer, we see Mackie and Jackson working together to buy banks, in order to give out loans to Black people/Families.

“The whole country is talking about how two negroes managed to but two banks, full of white folk’s money, and loaned it to more negroes.”

The world premiere of The Banker will take place on Thursday, Nov. 21 at the AFI Fest in Los Angeles. The film will open in select theaters on Dec. 6 before debuting on Apple TV+ in January 2020. Check out the trailer below.
