Rihanna Helps Raise 2.3 Billion For Global Education

Nothing but the best from my President, Rihanna.

The Global Conference for Education (GPE) was held in Dakar, Senegal, and was moderated by Senegal’s President, Macky Sall, and France’s President, Emmanuel Macron. The conference had multiple representatives for global change, while having Rihanna as the global ambassador for GPE.

The Global Conference for Education, which Rihanna helped contribute with her own charity, the Clara Lionel Foundation, raised an overwhelming 2.3 billion dollars for global education. The commitment of $ 2.3 billion for the next 3 years is a significant advance from the $ 1.3 billion Dollars pledged between 2015 and 2017.

Rihanna created the Clara Lionel Foundation in 2012, and it was named and dedicated to her grandmother, who she called Gran Gran Dolly, who has since passed away. The social media bio for the charity accounts reads as follows, “CLF supports and funds groundbreaking and effective education, health and emergency response programs around the world.”

“I would really like to think president Macron and president Sall for having me, and for hosting this very important replenishment,’ Rihanna says in a speech at the event. “I would also like to especially thank everyone who has pledged and donated today. Give yourself a round of applause because this is what we’ve wanted all along. We’e made tremendous progress today, and of course our work is never done, and we’re not going to stop fighting until every boy and every girl has access to education. Thank you.”
