Rashad Haughton, Aaliyah’s Brother, Helped With Creating the “Aaliyah For Mac” Line

Yes, it is happening. Aaliyah for Mac makeup line is launching June 21st of this month, but it was helped due to the import of Aaliyah Haughton’s brother, Rashad

This isn’t Rashad’s first time stepping into the creative lane with ad for his late sister. He helped Aaliyah with the concept video for “4 Page Letter.” Although that was just one main thing with his working with Aaliyah, it was not his first or last. Rashad is also an artist, writer, director, and actor.

While talking to Teen Vogue, Rashad says the line is an example of Aaliyah’s true essence, “street but sweet.”

“We wanted to create a line where the minimalism is there,” he said. “You can re-create those archive looks from videos and film, but at the same time, mix, match, experiment, and imagine what Aaliyah’s style would look and feel like in 2018 and the future.”

This campaign all started from a petition from Jennifer Risinger asking M.A.C. to create an Aaliyah-inspired beauty line, which gained support from more than 26,000 people, including Missy Elliott and Rashad.

Now, the collection comes out on June 21st, but you can click the link here to sign up for notifications for when it drops.
