Philip Johnson of Philaye Films has curated his own film festival, bringing it to a city near you.
The Detroit native will have three films on display: “It’s in You,” “Amy and Neil,” and “Quarantine Love.”
The festival will take place in Atlanta on March 16 at Cinevision Corporation, at DTLA in Los Angeles on March 22 and at Studio Movie Grill in Philadelphia on March 27.
“It’s in You” is written and directed by Johnson and Robert Graves and executive produced by Johnson.
The story is about a problematic pastor who fights for his life when a vengeful, violent spirit invades him.
The film stars Graves, Tiaramy Maloy, Antoine Tate, Twon Marcel Pope, Taariq Muhammad, Rhonda Ray, G Harvey.
Written by DeLane McDuffie and starring Atika Greene and Twon Marcel Pope, “Amy and Neil” is about a 90’s couple that comedically battles gender roles on a date.
The film was produced and directed by both Johnson and Pope.
Created and executive produced by J’Lamar Nichols, “Quarantine Love” is about three potential couples and throuples quarantined in stylish bunkers for 30 days try to find love.
The film was co-executive produced and directed by Johnson.
Each film festival date will have a red carpet, followed by premiere screenings of the three new Philaye Films short films, as well as panels with the creatives.
In 2022, Philaye Films premiered two films on streaming services: “The Unhinged” and “Maybe Next Christmas.” Both of those films were released in 2021 with much success.
