Starting with a visual of her younger self watching 106 & Park, Normani came at us with “Motivation” in more ways than one.
Her love of early 2000s is evident in the video. Honoring Beyoncé (“Crazy in Love” video), Jennifer Lopez (“I’m Real” video), Omarion (“Touch” video), and more, Normani gave us her motivation to becoming the artist she is. We even get her doing flips and tricks in the rain! Who else has hit a split from a cartwheel in water, in heels? The talent!
“Motivation” is Normani’s fourth single, following “Love Lies,” “Waves,” and “Dancing With A Stranger.” The uptempo bop gets the people going. It’s had an overwhelming positive response on social media. Receiving praise from Missy Elliott, Kehlani, Ariana Grande, and more.
“I’ma break you off, let me be your motivation/ To stay and give it tonight/ And, baby, turn around, let me give you innovation/ Hey, ’cause I do it so right/ Think about it, ooh, I think about it/ Think about it, ooh, take a look at me now/ Hey, a little motivation, alright”
