Buzzing Chicago Hip Hop artist Prez Harris teamed up with fellow Chicago artist Davo Sounds for his new song and video for “one and only,” wrestling with the complex dynamics of a love triangle as Harris pines after his girl next door.
Throughout the song, we hear the two artists go back to back, proclaiming the search to find the “one and only” over an uptempo beat with funk-inspired guitar rifts that carry throughout the song. “You could be my one and only, I’ve traveled ‘round the world there’s none like you / You and I would drive them crazy, Ain’t nothing in this life that we can’t do.”
Captured by Josue Ortiz, the video shows a story of forbidden love that seems to want to happen between Harris and a young woman, who happens to be in another relationship, with Sounds no doubt. While he tries to get the best friend off his mind romanticly, they have a bittersweet way of always connecting.
