#NewVideo: Lizzo Returns with ‘About Damn Time,’ Announces Album ‘Special’

It’s “About Damn Time” Lizzo has given fans a glimpse of her forthcoming album, Special with its lead single. “About Damn Time” is a feel-good, affirmation, up-tempo song, that fits the title of her new album Special.

“Oh, I been so down and under pressure, I’m way too fine to be this stressed, yeah/ Oh, I’m not the girl I was or used to be, uh, Bitch, I might be better/Turn up the music, turn down the lights/ I got a feeling, I’m gon’ be alright/ Okay (Okay), alright/ It’s about damn time”

Although Lizzo released “Rumors” with Cardi B last year, it appears “About Damn Time” is the lead single for her album. Special, the album, will contain 12 tracks that Lizzo narrowed down from 170 songs.

“These songs are love,” Lizzo said on a message track on the Special album tracklist. “Whether it’s self-love, love for your family, love for your friends, or love for your significant other, I really believe that love for oneself and for others is what this world needs to be a better place.”

Lizzo’s album is due out July 15.
