#NewVideo: Lil Nas X Gets Personal on ‘Sun Goes Down’

Lil Nas X shows a more subtle and intimate side in his thought process and emotional state in ‘Sun Goes Down.” The emotional track has X recalling his thoughts on depression, self-reflections, and suicide when he was younger. The video shows X in high school, trying to live life and going to prom.

“I go back in time to visit a younger version self who’s struggling inside, hating himself, & doesn’t want to live anymore,” X said in a previous tweet. “I try my best to uplift him. … This one is really special to me.”

“I wanna run away, Don’t wanna lie, I don’t want a life/ Send me a gun and I’ll see the sun/ You need an instant ease, From your life where you got plenty/ Of every hurt and heartbreak, You just take it all to the face/ I know that you want to cry, But there’s much more to life than dyin'”
