#NewMusic: Kevin Ross Talks His Talk on ‘Show & Prove’

As the second song from his forthcoming “Midnight Microdose” project, Kevin Ross‘ “Show and Prove,” is a sensual yet direct call to action based on getting to know someone and the thoughts and emotions that come with that.

Ross’ clear-cut tone and dynamic background vocals continue to shine through on “Show and Prove,” written by Ross, Jabreh Shaw and Jaquetta Singleton. The single displays the art form within a budding romance.

“Cause I promise I can show you, better than I can tell you/ What’s next up is your move, I can follow through / It’s a rare connection, ain’t no question, send that signal through/ So nevermind the promises they told you, I can show and prove”

“Show and Prove” follows “Look My Way,” the first single from the forthcoming “Midnight Microdose,” and his “Sweet Release” video.

“Sweet Release,” released in 2021, currently holds a Top 10 Adult R&B Airplay position while his new single, “Look My Way” debuted at #27. This makes Ross the first independent R&B artist with two singles in the Top 30 of this chart.

Ross’ releases within the last few years have been through his own record label, Art Society Music Group (ASMG), and he has garnered more than 100 million streams across platforms.

In 2021, Ross shared with us some lessons he learned through the independent music journey.

“For anyone that’s around me, they have to be involved,” Ross said. “They got to have purpose in my life. They got to sow the right seeds in my life as well. I don’t need no yes man, yes woman around me, but what I do need are people who are alert and productive to see things that I may not be able to see.”
