#NewMusic: Inspired by Conversations with Black Women, Raheem DeVaughn Releases “If I Don’t,”

Raheem DeVaughn’s new single “If I Don’t,” which DeVaughn said was inspired by multiple conversations with Black women, is lifted from his forthcoming album Raheem DeVaughn Presents From Lust Till Dawn.

“I realized that they want to be recognized for how they show up in relationships, DeVaughn said. “‘If I Don’t’ is an introspective record that speaks for women in the third person regarding how they want to be recognized and appreciated by the man in their life.”

“I want to be known and have a name for being a contributor to the culture of R&B and soul music,” DeVaughn said. “Not just through my music but it could be through my penmanship, through songs that I write or artists I’ve discovered…not only in the D.C. area, but artists from different parts of the country and the world.”

“If I Don’t” was written by DeVaughn, produced by Tim Kelley, and showcases an open message of honesty and sincerity. Raheem DeVaughn Presents From Lust Till Dawn is set to be released on May 6.
