Meek Mill Celebrates His Birthday With “Meekend Music,” Taking Shots At Nicki Minaj & Drake

Meek Mill celebrated his 30th birthday weekend but keeping his promise of releasing new music. The 3 song EP, “Meekend Music,” features A$AP Ferg and Young Thug.

The EP was released last night, and as soon as it dropped, the shots were heard, especially as Meek shouted out Remy Ma. If you don’t remember why and how Meek and Remy have a friendship, go listen to “Shether” again. The three songs are “$lay” featuring A$AP Ferg, “Backboard” featuring Young Thug, and “Left Hollywood.” Both shots to Drake and Nicki Minaj appear in his first song “$lay.”

In the song, Meek seemed to go for Drake again on his claims that the Toronto-rapper didn’t actually write his verse for his feature on “R.I.C.O” back n 2015.  Meek blasted Drake for allegedly using a ghostwriter, stating Atlanta rapper Quentin Miller was the person behind some of Drake’s rhymes; however, the Atlanta rapper has since denied these claims. “Packing this bitch and you know we reloaded/Look at the credits and tell you who wrote it.”

Now when it comes to Minaj…

In the opening verse on “$lay,” Meek makes a play on her name: “Woke up this morning, I had a ménage.” Several lines later, he raps: “I’m on the roof with that scope, and I hit them lil bitches like Remy, my nigga.” The latter of lines is a clear shot to Minaj, referencing her beef with Remy Ma, and her diss track about Minaj with “Shether.”

You can listen to the Ep Here.

Although Meek took shots at Minaj, she migh’ve threw her own shade towards him. She released her video for “Regret In Your Tears” this weekend, Meek’s Birthday weekend, which is a song rumored to be about him (although she never calls out his name on the song).
