Montero is X’s born-given name, and he previously released a letter to his younger self, adding why the single is important to him.
He tried to promote the single with a “satan shoe,” which had Nike file a lawsuit. He was a trending topic with churches and politicians, and he and his director got called out for sharing too many similarities with FKA Twigs’ “Cellophane” video.
