Lifetime to Premiere ‘Where is Wendy Williams?’ Documentary in Two-Night Special

“I’m gonna tell you something, if it happens to me, it could happen to you,” Wendy Williams says in the Lifetime documentary that includes almost 2 years of her life.

The Lifetime cameras followed Williams on a comeback journey to reclaim her throne following being placed under financial guardianship and her hit talk show was unexpectedly canceled.

Elaine Frontain Bryant, EVP and Head of Programming, A&E, Lifetime and LMN, said that Williams’ story is unfinished after more than a decades-long partnership.

“There is so much more to it,” Bryant said. “Nobody truly knew the depths of Wendy’s reality so we hope that what our cameras captured can help shine a light on what she is facing now.”

The trailer shows Williams in a different state than viewers have seen her in the past. The documentary will allow viewers to also see and hear from Williams’ family.

“Opening the doors to her private life like never before, cameras chronicled her comeback journey to reclaim her life and legacy despite facing health issues and personal turbulence. With unparalleled access granted by Wendy to film with her and her family for nearly two years, what was captured was not what anyone expected,” reads the news release.

Throughout the airing of the program and on Lifetime’s social media platforms, Lifetime will drive messaging to mylifetime.com/WendyWilliams, directing viewers to a range of resources including SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration), NAMI for Mental Health Resources, and information and resources for Graves’s Disease and Lymphedema.

“Where is Wendy Williams?” will debut on Feb. 24 and 25 at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.

On the Friday night prior, Feb. 23, Lifetime will encore Wendy’s biopic, Wendy Williams: The Movie and her 2021 documentary, “Wendy Williams: What a Mess.”
