K. Michelle Says New Edition Sampled Single “The Rain” is the “First Time” She’s Picked Her Single During Her Career

Kimberly “K. Michelle” Pate is releasing the long awaited, already fan favorite song “The Rain.” on Friday.

Pate has had fans waiting in happy agony over her upcoming single “The Rain.” After playing the song on one of her Instagram Live sessions, along with a few other songs, she had fans hooked. Everyday, you would see fans asking bout the single.

Well, in a recent post, Pate revealed something special about the single. She revealed that this is the first time she picked her own single throughout her career. Her debut album came out in 2013, and she’s put out multiple mixtapes before then. The statement speaks on how the music business is.

“Confession,” she began. “Y’all done cursed me out so bad about releasing this song and my album, and thats put a lot of pressure on me. BUT I MUST ADMIT, I REALLY LOVE THIS SONG, “THE RAIN.”

She went on to say that “my whole career I’ve never got to pick a single this will be my first time. I listen to y’all my Rebels, my heart, my ear, and how it makes me feel down in my soul. “The Rain” will be available this Friday❤️*thank you to the legends Jimmy Jam&Terry Lewis for allowing me to use the sample from the original song from the legendary New Edition such an honor❤️ AND WAIT TILL YALL HEAR THIS ALBUM!!!!!”
