Happy Birthday Whitney Houston!

Today is the legendary Whitney Houston’s Birthday. Since her passing her fan base has expanded widely, and has gotten younger. Today Celebrities everywhere has shared thoughts on Whitney, as well as her many accolades. Houston has defied odds, made many strides, and working against her past to become a better and stronger person. Let’s look at some of her accolades and some special songs. Houston was and still is an Icon, a Legend, and Friend.

Houston’s rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner,” performed by her at Super Bowl XXV in 1991, became certified platinum, and it was later used to raise money for the victims of 9/11.

Houston has eleven number 1 records, but 20 top 10 Billboard Hits.

Houston was the queen of shade & reads

Houston got to star in the remake of her favorite movie ever “Sparkle,” and make a song “Celebrate” with Jordin Sparks right before her passing.

One of the many great things about Houston is she still inspires people everyday, many of the celebrities we love. From Sevyn Streeter, Beyonce, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, and so many more, but most noticeably R&B singers Brandy & Monica. They both had special relationships with Houston. Brandy & Houston starred in Rogers & Hammerstein’s version of “Cinderella.” They had they timeless song “Impossible” together in the movie.

Housing also served many timeless/classic looks.

There are a few covers I had to share, and that’s Sevyn Streeter. She first posted her covering “I Have Nothing” by Houston on Instagram. I had to place all 4 videos together because I had to watch it without any breaks in between. The other Is Jordin Sparks covering Houston’s I Will Always Love You” and the third is Ariana Grande covering “How Will I Know.”
