After releasing “Loving U Blind” last year, Elle Varner tapped D.C. native Wale for het latest track, “Pour Me.”
Varner uses her sultry vocals to enchant her listeners, continuing the musical style we’ve gotten to know her for. Reminiscent of a 90’s vibe given, the percussion mixed with the keys and melody, Varner captured a track that could be a great continuation of her debut album.
Varner spoke with Rated R&B about the track in December of 2018. “It’s a double entendre about being a poor girl who’s lost the love she wants. So, pour her another.”
“But I liked you as a homie/ Now Im crying saying pour me/ So, pour me one more, one more, one more, one more/ I’m thinking bout you/ Drinking bout you/ All night for sure”
