Drake released two new songs recently, “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity.” Both of which debuted within the top 10, making Drake the first artist to do this. ‘s “God’s Plan” is the 29th song to debut at #1 on the Hot 100 chart, and the first of 2018, making it Drake’s fourth number 1, while “Diplomatic Immunity” debuted at number seven.

“God’s Plan” broke Spotify’s single-day streaming record, gaining 4,326,679 streams on Jan. 22, as well as breaking Apple Music’s first day streaming record with over 14 million plays.

The first song to debut at number 1 on the Hot 100 Charts was Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone,” followed by Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy,” both happened in 1995, so drake is within good company.
