According to Reports, Lashana Lynch Will Be the First Black Woman to Star as 007 in ‘James Bond’

While many people wanted Idris Elba to star as the first Black 007 in the franchise awhile ago, what better way to change the game than by having Lashana Lynch, a Black woman, shake the table.

According to the Daily Mail, Lynch, 31, will be the new 007. Now, being James Bond and 007 are not one in the same, because the numbers can be transferred to different people (not the actual name). This is the 25th movie in the franchise, and the introduction of Lynch as 007 has been described as a ‘popcorn-dropping moment.’

A movie insider stated that “there is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M [played by Ralph Fiennes] says, ‘Come in 007,’ and in walks Lashana who is Black, beautiful, and a woman… Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman.”

If Lynch’s face or name sound familiar, then it means you’re probably a Marvel fan. Lynch just starred as Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel, opposite Brie Larson as her best friend/a fighter pilot. Being no stranger to action, Lynch is sure to do the role justice. She has not publicly commented on the current reports.
