16-Year-Old Tylan Samples a New Edition Classic for “Feel This Way” Single

Tylan is a 16-year-old, straight-A student, high-school basketball star, and emerging D.C. artist. His music is reflective and has broad appeal to younger and more mature audiences. He tapped R&B icon Ronnie DeVoe for his new single “Feel This Way” as part of a birthday gift to his mother.

Outside of the New Edition “If It Isn’t Love” sample, “Feel This Way” was written by multi-award winner RL, and produced by B-Flat and RL. DeVoe raps on the track, and Tylan makes it his own, despite the well known classic sample.

Tylan has been keeping fans tuned into the “behind the scenes” of his journey with his weekly series, “LIVIN’ WITH TYLAN” via his youtube channel. In the coming weeks, TYLAN will be releasing his new buzz single in support of the release of his upcoming debut EP.

“I am just thankful and honored to have been able to record this classic song and add a new twist to it,” mentions Tylan. “Because of my mom’s love for New Edition, I thought it would be cool to be able to pay homage to one of the greatest groups of all times and to be able to release it on my mom’s birthday, was just the best gift ever from me to her,” he adds.
