YoYo Speaks on “Out of Control,” Her First Single in Over 10 Years: “It’s Amazing… Feels Good”

When a legend speaks you listen! While covering the Urban One Honors red carpet, we got a moment to speak with YoYo after releasing her first single in over a decade.

YoYo’s Out of Control” features Patient Picasso, Brittany B & Tyeler Reign. The video, released independent and only a few days ago, has received over 65,000 views thus far, and its growing. In over 30 years in the game, YoYo still commands respect.

“i’m only gon do what I do, Keep a bag and take care of mine too/ Keep the women with me on a move, Oh you know I’m gonna buy me some shoes/ I like what I like what I lIke, It’s alright when you’re squeeing me tight/ I’m too focused to put up a fight, I’m not in my feelings, alright/ You compliment me baby we’re compatible, So I’m giving you my heart as collateral/ And in return you invest a lot of capital, So we can launch this brand like a catapult ”

On the carpet, YoYo shared how it feels to be at this point of her career. “It’s amazing,” she started saying. “Talking about independently doing something 30 years in the game, and to finally be able to leave my own fingerprints on the walls. It feels good. It’s a bop too”
