Watch The Trailer For Upcoming “Surviving R. Kelly” Docu-Series

It’s no secret that Robert “R. Kelly” Kelly has a lot of allegations surrounding him from years past going on til today, and somehow, he has managed to escape free of any charges.

Lifetime is planning on bringing a docs-series to life about the artist and his life surrounding his sexual abuse allegations. Kelly just recently released a song detailing his past, being abused himself, saying the allegations are false, and that he can’t read. Recently, singer K. Michelle shared her experience being around Kelly. Kelly’s former wife, Andrea, just described some abuse she suffered at the hands of him.

In the beginning of the trailer, you hear a woman narrate her experience with Kelly. “There’s a difference between R. Kelly and Robert. R. Kelly’s this fun, laughing, loving guy,” she states. “But Robert…is the devil.” Other interview subjects refer to the singer as a “puppet master” and a “monster.”

The docu-series will include over 50 interviews, including appearances from John Legend, R&B artist Sparkle, Wendy Williams and civil rights activist Tarana Burke. Kelly’s ex-wife Andrea Kelly, ex-girlfriend Kitti Jones and brothers Carey and Bruce are also a part of the series.

The six-hour Lifetime docuseries will air in three installments: Thursday, January 3rd at 9 p.m. ET/PT; Friday, January 4th at 9 p.m. ET/PT; and Saturday, January 5th at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Watch the trailer below.
