Watch The Full 10 Minute Exchange Between Mo’Nique & Steve Harvey

Mo’Nique stopped by Steve Harvey’s talk show, and discussed many things. However, the one moment that has gotten everyone defending Mo’Nique is the moment topic on integrity was discussed.

While on the show, Harvey spoke to Mo’Nique about the blackballing situation, and how she handled it. Saying that he believes how she handled it was wrong, stating “I felt you had done yourself a disservice by the way you chose to go about it.” Harvey also mentioned the moment Mo’Nique was doing a comedy set and told Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry and Lee Daniels to “suck my d*ck,” if she had one.

Mo’Nique stated that she was especially hurt by the backlash because all three individuals, including Harvey, told her behind the scenes she had done nothing wrong.

“Each one of you said to me, ‘Mo’Nique, you’re not wrong,’” the actress told Harvey. “And when I heard you go on the air and say, ‘My sister burned too many bridges, and it’s nothing I can do for her now,’ Steve, do you know how hurt I was?”

During the discussion, Harvey continuously cuts Mo’Nique off, and at one points, grabs her hands while talking to continue his point. Harvey alludes to the fact that surviving and making fortunes for his kids and family are more important to him, so he wouldn’t have done the things the same way as Mo’Nique.

In my interview with Mo’Nique, she said something that speaks truth into this situation stemming from integrity.

“So now when I watch my imagery on TV and in movies, someone else’s family will benefit off of my image, because I wasn’t only hired to be the help. And the very man Whoopi Goldberg told me to get rid of, which is my husband who is also my manager, was the very man that said ‘Mo’Nique, you’ve got to stop just being the help. Because years from now, someone else will benefit from your image, and your family will get no benefits at all.’ So we must start executive producing, we must start owning our projects. I did not say that to throw shade, and spill tea; I’m too damn old for that, that’s my sister. However, I had to say the truth, and that is the truth. I don’t regret anything I said.”
