Tyler Perry Studios Will Host Next Democratic Debate

Tyler Perry‘s Tyler Perry Studios is being used for more than films and television! The next democratic debate will take place at the ground breaking studio.

The next Democratic Debate will take place on November 20, and hosted by an all-women panel of moderators. Hosted by MSNBC and The Washington Post, Rachel Maddow, Andrea Mitchell, Kristen Welker, and Ashley Parker will help moderate the event.Powerful political candidate Stacey Abrams confirmed that the next debate will take place at Tyler Perry Studios.

“Democratic Debate site is set @TPStudios [Tyler Perry Studios] is a model for Georgia’s vibrant film industry,” her Tweet began. “An engaged corporate citizen and an exceptional location for our #DemDebate. Looking forward to welcoming the candidates to Georgia on November 20.”

Tyler Perry Studios is the first large scale studio owned by an African-American.  The 330-acre lot was acquired by Perry in 2015, which is built on the former Fort McPherson army base.

“The major motion picture studio, one of the largest production facilities in the country, showcases forty buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, twelve purpose-built sound stages, 200 acres of greenspace and a diverse backlot.”
