Trey Songz Gets Probation Over Detroit Incident, Ordered to Take Anger Management Classes & Drug Testing


Trey Songz will spend the next 18 months on probation for ruining a stage following a performance in Detroit last year.

Songz, who was born Tremaine Neverson, was initially charged with a felony count of assaulting a police officer, causing injury which is punishable by up to four years in prison. He was also charged with a misdemeanor count of aggravated assault, which carries of a maximum penalty of one year in jail, officials said. Those charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal.

According to The Jasmine Brand, “one of his attorneys, Gabi Silver, told the court today that Neverson has no prior criminal history, accepted responsibility for his role that night and is a charitable man.”

Songz has since not addressed the situation after posting a photo of him going into court on August 18th, 2017.
