On Friday, October 12th, the ladies of “The Real” stopped by “The Breakfast Club” to promote their show. During the interview, Charlamagne brought up Tamar Braxton, to which Loni Love shared her side.
During the interview, the topic of celebrities confronting any of the ladies for what they may have said was brought up. Charlamagne took no time to make a transition to questioning about Braxton being fired from a show she was a part of since the beginning. “Did the show lose anything with Tamar, you think?” Charlamagne asked.
“I don’t think, for me… okay, that’s the big elephant in the room,” Love began. “I think every body has been waiting for us to talk about it. Season 1 and season 2, we were all different, okay. We didn’t really know each other that much, it was a new show, and as far as I know; I was sitting at a table with a girl named Tamar Braxton. I had just met these ladies, and I had just met her. I was excited. You got to understand something about me. I’ve been doing this for a long time, I had a production deal with a studio that actually said ‘let’s develop a show for women of color.’ So, I was already tied in, but I had no type of tie in in terms of casting… Tamar and the rest of these women were the best. We had a different type of show back then, then Season 2 happened, and it was getting better, there was something that had happened and I don’t know what happened.”
Love eventually alluded to the fact that Braxton’s estranged husand Vincent Herbert may have had something to do with it. Sharing a story to how Towanda Braxton allegedly tipped Love off on a new episode of Braxton Family Values. Love stated that Towanda basically gave her a warning about an episode that could have been damaging to Love, the other ladies, and their brand.
Well, Towanda has issued her own statement regarding Love name dropping herself, and her side of the plane flight where all of this took place.
“What I’m not willing to do is allow ANYONE to create dissension,” Towanda began I her post. “I absolutely was on that flight with @comiclonilove And how many years ago was this conversation? I’m amused at how the statements were paraphrased. It was NEVER a heads up…. AND as soon as I saw Loni on the flight, I IMMEDIATELY contacted Tamar to let her know. The interview circulating that I’m included in is bullshit. Why feel compelled to keep mentioning Tamar when it pertains to that talk show? I guess they are her biggest fans? ??♀️ Y’all should ask Tamar to come back since she’s the hot topic….Keep it ‘REAL’ or change the name of the show. #therealreal Love you Tamar ❤️, just like ‘The Real’ #igottimetoday #tamarbraxton”
