The Clark Sisters are a legacy in music, and have been able to ignite families and generation for over 40 years. They are now getting a biopic that is premiering tonight from executive producers Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, and Dr. Holly Carter.
The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel recounts the story of the highest selling female gospel group in history and of their trailblazing mother, Mattie Moss Clark (Aunjanue Ellis). Credited with bringing Gospel music to the mainstream, the five Clark sisters (Christina Bell as “Twinkie,” Kierra Sheard as “Karen,” Sheléa Frazier as “Dorinda,” Raven Goodwin as “Denise,” Angela Birchett as “Jacky”) overcame humble beginnings in Detroit. They endured abuse, loss, rejection, betrayal, and sibling rivalries to achieve international fame as icons of the Gospel music industry.
Music lifted from the original film will be available worldwide digitally on Monday, April 13th via Releve Entertainment distributed by Tyscot and Warner Music Group. Philo is offering a week free for new subscribers, allowing people to watch Lifetime’s The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel.
Michelle Williams will be hosting an IG Live virtual red carpet, starting at 6pm est. The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel premieres tonight at 8pm est, on Lifetime.
