Toni Braxton Will Be Honored With BMI’s President Award

To know me is to know Toni Braxton is, and will forever always be bae. Seeing her success after all these years continues to make me happy, and Proud. Her latest prominent music industry moment will be receiving BMI’s R&B/Hip-Hop President Award

Braxton will be receiving the President’s Award in recognition of her distinguished career and substantial influence on popular music over last 25 years. The event will be held on Thursday, September 1st, 2016 in Atlanta, GA, with Chris Tucker as the host with Dj Khaled opening the show. “The BMI President’s Award is presented on special occasions to an individual songwriter, composer, producer or executive who has made exemplary contributions to the art of music and whose work has profoundly influenced the entertainment industry.” Previous recipients include Ludacris and Will.I.Am. Braxton has sold over 40 million records worldwide, and has scored several Grammys. BMI’s Vice President of Writer/Publisher Relations Catherine Brewton has spoken highly of Braxton. “As one of the top-selling R&B artists of all time, combined with her philanthropic efforts, I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this recognition,” said Brewton.

Besides being Toni Braxton, she is also a spokesperson for Autism Speaks, actively involved in the American Heart Association, and is battling Lupus, while still preparing on going on tour. Braxton cannot be stopped.
