Tina Turner, along with Queen, and Neil Diamond will be the lifetime achievement award honorees at the 2018 Grammys this year.
“This year’s Special Merit Awards recipients are a prestigious group of diverse and influential creators who have crafted or contributed to some of the most distinctive recordings in music history,” said Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow.
“These exceptionally inspiring figures are being honored as legendary performers, creative architects, and technical visionaries. Their outstanding accomplishments and passion for their craft have created a timeless legacy.”
Now, after this announcement and the fact that the Grammy’s are honoring Jay-Z at the pre-gala, rumors have swirled that Beyoncé will be performing a Turner tribute, which seems pretty accurate.
The Grammy Awards will take place on January 28 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
