Queens, staring Eve, Naturi Naughton, Brandy and Nadine Velazquez, airs Oct. 19 on ABC at 10 p.m. Ahead of that, the ladies have released the first song and video of the series called “Nasty Girl.”
Queens is centered around an all-women Hip-Hop group from the ‘90s who are pursuing stardom again 20 years later. Brandy told ABC Audio that she wanted to be a part of the series because she’s never seen an all-women Hip-Hop group before, in real life or on-screen.
“It was never a hip hop girls group, ever,” Brandy said. “And so I was like, this is different. This is deep. I love it. I want to be a part of it.”
The first song and video, “Nasty Girl,” has all four women speaking going as far as they could, even for an ABC show. All four flows are unique and tell their own story, having the women stand apart.
