In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Tamar Braxton revealed that she is seriously retiring from singing/performing in order to protect her marriage with husband Vincent Herbert.

Now, rumors have circulated for years that their marriage was in trouble, and undoubtably, the stress from Braxton having to have major surgery, to being fired from the real, to infertility problems played a lot in their problems. And of course, the infamous 911 call that claims Herbert bit Braxton, but through it all, they remained as a unit.

In the interview, Braxton describes her emotions for the upcoming “Bluebird of Happiness” album as “nerv-cited,” “I’m nervous and excited at the same time,” she says. “This has just been a project that’s been so close to me, and I’ve worked really hard on it and it was kind of, like, the soundtrack to my life at the time.”

“It’s really about showing who you are and not being afraid to talk about experiences you have gone through,” Tamar shares. “It’s just about, you know, stripping down and being real.”

“This album is just where I was in my life at the time,” she adds. “You know, nothing in my life felt right. And everything felt like it was a question mark that surrounded it and, you know, I just had to write and sing about it.”

Despite her happiness and excitement of what she calls her last album, she reveals that it’s more so to protect her relationship and family.

“This is just my job,” she says of singing. “When I go home, that’s my home. I always want to keep my home a sanctuary and somewhere safe. Not just for me, but for my husband and my kid.”

Hopefully this won’t be the last album, and Braxton can still find happiness.
