T.I. Gets Assault Charges Dropped Dealing With Security Guard, Still Faces 2 Misdemeanor Charges

While somethings are looking up for Hip-Hop icon Clifford “T.I.” Harris, he still has a ways to go before things are completely on his side.

On May 16th of this year, Harris was arrested outside of his gated community in Stockbridge following an altercation with the security guard. According to the Associated Press, prosecutors charged Harris with simple assault, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct earlier this month.

Mike Ireland, Henry County Deputy Police Chief, provided more detail regarding the incident. Ireland said that Harris lost his key and the guard wouldn’t let him in the neighborhood. According to the police report, T.I. was eventually allowed inside but walked back to the guard, demanding his name. The guard preceded to feel Harris was threatening, and called the police. Harris was arrested that night, but posted bail.

TMZ is reporting that Harris’ assault charged has been dropped, however, he still faces 3 counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and one count of misdemeanor public drunkenness. T.I.’s attorney Steve Sadow told news outlets the accusation was “baseless, ill-founded and unjustified.”

On a brighter note, Harris and his entire family is returning to television with their new show on VH1, “Friends & Family Hustle.” The positive show may do well for Harris’ image, and may help get the other charges dropped.
