Steve Harvey Says He Regrets On-Air Exchange With Mo’Nique

Following the 10 minute viral exchange between Steve Harvey and Mo’Nique, many people called in to question Harvey’s ethics. His words are now something he regrets.

While on the show, Harvey spoke to Mo’Nique about the blackballing situation, and how she handled it. Saying that he believes how she handled it was wrong, stating “I felt you had done yourself a disservice by the way you chose to go about it.”

“This ain’t the black man’s game. This ain’t’ the white man’s game. This is the money game,” Hervey continued. “You cannot sacrifice yourself. The best thing you can do for poor people is not be one of them.”

Well, Harvey has since spoken with PEOPLE to give more insight on his comments.

“I’ve got to slow down when I’m talking,” Harvey told People Sunday. “I can’t get into heated discussions, and I’ve got to just guard my words more carefully.”

“I take full responsibility for it, it came out my mouth, so I can’t say that I didn’t say it. But to people that really know me, I have lived my whole life as a man of integrity. So when I was referring to ‘integrity’ in that interview, I was talking about the method in which things were being done, and that is all it was.”
