Six family members of the late Tejano music and culture icon, Selena Quintanilla, lost their lives during Hurricane Harvey.
Quintanilla’s father, Abraham, posted a Facebook message to offer his condolences to his relatives who tragically drowned amid the natural disaster.
“The family that drowned in Houston Texas were related to me,” he wrote in the Aug. 28 Facebook post (Which has since been deleted). “Manuel Saldivar and his wife (Belia) and 4 of their grandkids left their flooded house to go somewhere where there was safety. When they cross a bridge a wave of water swept the van and push them in to the bayou the driver was saved but manuel and his wife and 4 grandkids drowned,” he detailed. “Manuels mother Carolina Was my father’s 1st cousin. My condolences to their family…”
He concluded the message with a prayer as he offered his condolences.
Saldivar, 84; Beila, 81, and the four young brothers and sisters — 16-year-old Devy; 15-year-old Dominic; 8-year-old Xavier and 6-year-old Daisy — were identified to authorities by their family, according to NBC News.
