Robyn Crawford Opens Up About Her Relationship with Whitney Houston: “Our Friendship Was a Deep Friendship”

For years, speculation surrounding the nature of Whitney Houston, and her best friend Robyn Crawford’s relationship. While their business is non of our business, Crawford has the right to tell her truth, her story, and people are listening.

While preparing to release her upcoming book, A Song For You, My Life with Whitney Houston, Crawford appears to be free. She sat down with Craig Melvin on NBC’s Today show; she was composed, straight forward, and appeared to be telling the truth.

“Our friendship was a deep friendship,” Crawford shares in the clip. “In the early part of that friendship, it was physical. It was during that first summer that we met. That was the first time that our lips touched.”

Crawford also went into when they stopped becoming physical. Saying that as they were learning the music industry, they didn’t want anything to hurt, or hinder that.

“I watched her rise to the top of her game and I felt compelled to share who that woman was behind all the fame,” Crawford told Today. “I never envisioned speaking publicly about my life and then I asked myself the question, ‘What would Whitney want? Would she understand [that] the time is now?'”
