It’s been almost twelve years since its release and the lead single from Rihanna’s “Unapologetic” album continues to shine bright. “Diamonds” became Rihanna’s third single to reach diamond status by RIAA, as of April 22.
The No. 1 single has a combined accumulated of 10 million units with sales and streams. The single was last updated at 7 times platinum in 2021 before the current accomplishment.
The “Love The Way You Lie” collaboration with Eminem became her first diamond single in 2013, followed by “We Found Love” in 2023.
“Diamonds” became Rihanna’s twelfth No. 1 single while “Unapologetic” became her first No. 1 album on the Billboard chart.
Following the success, Rihanna launched the Diamonds World Tour and had much success with singles “Stay,” “Loveeeeeee Song” and “Pour It Up.”
Rihanna’s single, “This Is What You Came For” with Calvin Harris appears to be her next soon-to-be-eligible diamond single. It was certified 8 times platinum in 2023.
