Three-time Grammy nominated recording artist Raheem Devaughn has never truly disappeared from music, he simply took the independent route, but he’s still making waves in the industry. His 2015 album, “Love, Sex & Passion,” reached Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums at #4, Billboard’s Independent Albums at #2 and Billboard 200 at #31.
Devaughn is on his way to release his sixth studio album, “Decade of A Love King,” available globally on October 19th, 2018. Following the release of his heart-felt first single, “Don’t Come Easy,” Devaughn has released an excellent follow up with “What It Feels Like.”
“What It Feels Like” was written by Devaughn and produced by Wendell “Mista Grinch” Hanes and “Jazzy Yo” of Volition. Staying true to his R&B core, “What It Feels Like” gives a mixture of mid 2000’s R&B, mixed with new age. Truly radio friendly, and in an era where love songs are almost non-existent, Devaughn delivers an uptempo love song that captures the attention of listeners, and places you in a mood to groove.
The flashback music video is directed by Chris Scholar. “What It Feels Like is the flashback story of how two people first met and years later they run into each other and simply take it all the way back to that special day,” says Devaughn. “I am extra excited about the #WIFL video because it is produced in conjunction with a youth program, Hands on the Future, that trains youth 14-23 year old and prepares them for the entertainment industry. The Scholar music-directed video was shot at a local food chain restaurant name Z-Burger; supported by the DC government (OCFTME) and Chi-Squared LLC,. It was a very unified effort to tell my love flashback story. So “What It Feels Like” felt great,” he adds.
