Prodigy’s Official Cause Of Death Revealed

The official cause death of the late and great Prodigy has been revealed, almost two months after the rap legend’s death.

Clark County’s medical examiner ruled Prodigy died from “accidental choking” with an egg while being treated for sickle cell anemia at a Las Vegas hospital. Prodigy was on tour in Las Vegas alongside Ghostface Killah, Onyx, KRS-One, and Ice-T, when the incident occurred 20 June. Prodigy’s sickle-cell had flared up after a performance in the severe West Coast heat of Las Vegas, according to Complex.

Prodigy’s friend and fellow Mobb Deep member Havoc hasn’t done many interviews or talked about his friend’s death, but he did go on the Wendy Williams show to open up. The pair was set to perform at Williams’ concert event in July.

“We used to P going to the hospital, you know what I’m saying?”  Havoc explained to Wendy Williams a month after Prodigy’s death on June 20. “Not like every day, but we’ve been dealing with this for over 20 years. So, you know, P goes to the hospital, stays there for like three days, five tops, and he’d get back better than he out. So it wasn’t like no, nothing to be like, ‘Oh my god, he crazy sick.’ It’s just sometimes, he has sickle cell.”
