#MariahCarey has returned with her first solo sing #MariahCarey has returned with her first solo single in five years, releasing “Type Dangerous” on June 6. The track samples the hip-hop classic “Eric B. Is President” by Eric B. & Rakim. “I’m so excited to finally be releasing ‘Type Dangerous’ into the world!” Carey said in a statement. “I’ve been locked up in the studio for quite some time working my behind off on new music, and I’m thrilled for the unveiling of it to my fans, starting with ‘Type Dangerous!’” While Carey’s last full-length album, Caution, was released in 2018, a new Carey album is on the way.

“Love Me in the Light” tells the poignant stor “Love Me in the Light” tells the poignant story of Zaire (a Black trans woman) and Marcus (a bisexual Black man), who navigate workplace struggles, family complexities, and the loneliness of a Covid-19 lockdown, ultimately finding connection on a dating app. I had the honor of speaking with DMV/Baltimore-based filmmaker Iman DuPree about this powerful Maryland-based project. After years in project management, DuPree realized that their true calling was to reach people through storytelling rather than the “matrix.” In a night filled with Black cinema, lost poetry, and the magic of Black classical music, Zaire and Marcus risk it all to share an evening neither of them wants to end. DuPree hopes this film will serve as a counter to anti-trans violence, highlighting the isolation many trans people face in a world that often rejects them.
