Offset’s Felony Charges Dropped in Phone Slapping Incident


SANDY SPRINGS, GA. The felony charge against the rapper Offset, born Kiari Cephus, has been dropped following a video showing him knocking a cellphone out of a young man’s hands.

The incident in question happened in April at a Target, where 18-year-old Junior Gibbons said his $800 iPhone was destroyed after he tried to film the Migos member (video below). Sandy Springs police Sgt. Sam Worsham told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Thursday that “all parties involved were able to come to an agreement.”

The agreement allowed the felony charge to be dropped after Cephus payed to get the phone repaired, maying $160.92. Cephus’s attorney, Drew Findling, told TMZ, “On May 20, the warrant was set aside after extensive good faith conversations with members of the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.
